Best way to share Gnucash data?

I've looked pretty hard for a ledger program anywhere near as good as
Gnucash that is accessible over a network but I can't find one.  I'd
greatly appreciate it if anyone could point me in the right direction
on that.  If not, what is the best way to centralize and share a
Gnucash file between multiple users?  I've considered NFS or switching
to an SQL db.  What would you do?  I found gnucashonline.com but I'd
rather retain control over my data.
