Hi, David.  Some program installs don't create Desktop or Windows 
Launcher short cuts.  When you look for All Apps, it's searching the 
menu short cuts.  Try looking specifically in the location given to you 
by Dave.

You can also use the DOS dir command to look for gnucash.  Of course the 
latter shouldn't be needed since others running Windows 8 have already 
specified the install directory.

 From your root directory of C: type this in:

dir /B gnucash /AD /s

This should show you where the gnucash directory is.  You can cd to that 
area and launch gnucash from there.
