Go to www.gnucash.org and sign up for the gnucash user mailing list; send
your questions there. I have copied this question and my response to the
list.

To get the register, in the accounts tab that you have open, find the
account and double-click on it and the register tab should open. You
probably closed the register tab in error. If you ever close the account
hierarchy tab in error, you can open it from the menu. This is all
explained in the user guide; you should get familiar with it.
