Can't Open on MAC

I opened Terminal but did get a prompt.  The File menu is labeled Shell.  A window opened "pcarini-bash-80x24.  I typed into the window the phrase you send verbatim.  Nothing else happened.  Here is what that window now shows:

paul-carinis-macbook-2:~ pcarini$  /Applications/Gnucash.app/Contents/MacOS/Gnucash --debug --logto=stderr I 


I must be missing something.  Sorry.
