Windows 10 problem - unable to spawn perl

I just installed the latest version of Gnucash on Windows 10 and I like 
the application, but when I try to save an account to a file the app 
hangs.  I found a log file that says it is unable to spawn perl. Reboots 
and re-installs didn't work.  I can't find any documentation about 
prerequisites, but I installed Strawberry Perl 32 bit, which also didn't 
help.  Any suggestions before I give up and try another accounting app?  
I'm not a Unix programmer, just want to install the App and use it for 
an non-profit.
