This begs the question:  what account do you have assigned in the VAT TaxTable that you used for the taxable items in the invoice?  And did you actually apply the tax table and mark the items as taxable?

I'm struggling with VAT on an invoice I created. Vat was charged at 20% but I
want that Vat figure to go into a VAT account it's gone nowhere in GnuCash as
all and just does not show up.

How do I make the Vat on an invoice go into another account? Really it should
ofset the vat account
