A big +1 on this, make sure you have a backup away from your PC and an
occasional backup away from your home (or office).  A PC or disc may
fail at any time, and if you had a fire in your home it may be that
your accounts would be useful for recalling how much things cost when
filling in an insurance claim.  Hence the importance of an offsite
backup.
