Hi,

Welcome to GnuCash & the list.

GnuCash, AFAIK, can not initiate transactions with your banking institutions.  
You can download info from your bank and import that into GC to save yourself 
some typing, but any outgoings from your bank must be set up by other means 
(eg online banking, writing a cheque etc.)
