transactions wil not record

   Macbook Air
   OS 10.9.3
   Memory: 4 GB
   processor: 1.4 Ghz intel Core i5

   I did the following:
   Opened GnuCash 2.6.7

   Clicked on account name

   used default date 08/01/2014
   tab twice
   typed:  interest
   return key
   used default classification
   change amount by ‘delete key’
   then typed:  0.25
   Return key

   the entire line disappeared.

   Hope that someone can help.

   I am thinking that you have entered a transaction more than a month old
   into the general ledger.
