you mean here?

Try using 'tab' here instead..  I presume this is an auto-filled
transaction now?

Not sure what this means, unless it's an auto-fulled transaction.  If it
is, what *IS* the default?  If it's not an auto-filled transaction, then
what did you put into the Transfer column?

This definitely implies an auto-filled transaction...

This is very very odd.  It sounds like a broken auto-fill entry.

How about you try it WITHOUT auto-fill?  Try using a unique description? 
For example, instead of "interest", type "interest today" and then do the
rest, filling in the correct transfer account, etc.  Then, after you enter
the transaction go back and change the description from "interest today"
to "interest"
