Hi Les,

Where are you storing your GnuCash files - on a local drive?
You might like to check your system log for disk errors or other problems
around the time you notice your problem.
I don't think anyone else has reported this sort of error.

BTW,

I see 2.6.13 is now available from Ubuntu for yakkety (16.10) but doesn't
seem to have been backported to xenial (16.04).
What version of Mint did you say you are getting this problem on - and what
version of Ubuntu is that based on?
What did you do to install if you're version of Mint is not based on 16.10?
