When I finished a 2 year IRS audit, the IRS examiner said;
"You're the most organized person I have ever audited".
My accountant said:
"You completely lost her; her eyes rolled. She just wanted to get out."
The only mistake I made was by providing hard copy receipts.
I should have quoted the Reduction in Paperwork Act..
If she couldn't accept a CD, tough.
Also all requests for data must be from an OMB approved form.
No verbal fishing.
I have been audited 15 times in the last 40 years. I used to delay responding by certified letter for 89 days. That guaranteed at least 2x examiner changes.
