Right, well that is the cause of your problems.  Somehow you have got
a rogue version of gnucash installed, the question now is how did that
get there.  Have you built gnucash from source or something like that?
 The answer to that may determine the best way to get rid of it.

Normally there would not be anything in /usr/local/bin.  What do you see for
ls /usr/local/bin
