Hi Dave,

There is as of gnucash 2.6.0. I realize it's slightly hidden:
- Business->Customer->New Invoice...
- In the window that opens, click on "Credit Note" and continue as you would 
for an invoice, but this will create a credit note instead.

Note that positive values on a credit note will decrease the AR account, where 
positive values on an invoice will increase the AR account.
