Reopening Gnucash File

I am still having a problem opening Gnucash. I closethe file by saving 
and then use "Quit". When I go back to Gnucash I have to search through 
all the Gnucash files to find the latest date and then open it. They are 
saved in Data/reb68/Striping/BusinessGnucash.
The files shown in the opening page will not open the latest file. What 
am I doing wrong?
