Beginners question, confused between real bank accounts and gnucash accounts

Income and expense accounts are for money that enters or leaves your 
books.  In this case, because your business and personal accounts are in 
the same file, you can (and are) treating them as if they are in the 
same books.  Assuming you don't want the business and personal accounts 
to share books, there are two simple ways to deal with this:

1) Have a separate GnuCash file for the business and the personal so 
there is no book confusion.  This way, the income on the personal will 
have to come from the income account.

2) Add an Expense:Payroll (or something similar) account for the 
business to send your salary to.  Then your personal checking account 
can separately receive the salary from Income:Salary.

Incidentally, (2) would technically still be necessary even if you took 
the (1) route.
