Unable to convert gnucash to mysql after upgrading to 16.04

Well I am just a dumb old redneck but remember years ago trying to port 
some data from Oracle to MS SQL. After an inordinate amount of time it 
was discovered that the problem was MS SQL did not like null dates 
(Oracle ..  at the time .. could not have cared less). Just a thought ...
