register balance column for large numbers won't display cents

It seems that GnuCash is automatically rounding off cents in the 'balance'
column display of registers when dollar amounts reach 7 digits. I have
tried setting preferences to automatically use 2 decimal places, and it
inserts .00 for every entry rather than the actual cents.

Is there any way to have my register display the full 7-digit dollar amount
as well as the 2-digit cents?


My computer is running Windows 10 64-bit.
