Could you explain this requirement? I'm trying to figure out why a "cloud"
solution wouldn't work.

There are plans to make it *possible* to access gnucash concurrently, but
it will take a lot of work. Currently, gnucash has a very strong assumption
that there is only one concurrent user (as you probably know).
