editing credit note

[Eric W. Rathhaus]

Hello - somehow one of my invoices is listed as a credit note.  This
designation seems to mess up my accounting as I can't pay it.  How can I
reverse/edit so that this note is treated as an invoice?  Also, any
pointers as to how I might have made this mistake so that I can avoid in
the future.  Thanks!
