Can I integrate one file into another?

Colin,

I usually always save the file before I close it, and I back up on two external hard drives, but not otherwise.  Of course, as a Mac user I have Time Machine from which I can recover the file from either external hard drive.  Is that what you had in mind?

Thanks so much for the advice…  Good to have everyone’s guidance on this.
