Not able to make entries in Gnucash

In Summary -
A few of the reasons that GnuCash might report (or suggest opening) a file
as read-only are:
1. The last time the file was opened it was not closed properly, leaving a
.LCK file in the data file folder.
2. The data file is in a folder that the OS has marked Read-Only.
3. There could be other permissions issues depending on OS and other
factors.
4. Releases of GnuCash prior to the 2.6 series could have different
behavior.
