Gerald,

Go to your accounts register and check your chart of accounts.  As others
have suggested, you probably have accidentally created another account that
appears to have the same name. If you hover your curser over the tab bar,
the full account names appear.    You can also use Tools > General Ledger
to see all transactions by date.
