Flickering in reports

I would expect to see graphics-card related flickering on a video game, but
GnuCash has yet to reach that level of excitement.

What it looks like to me is that the displayed item is too wide, so some
kind of line-breaking algorithm is invoked, which then fails because it
can't break the graph, then back to step 1. Just a guess.

I've also noticed that my (wide) budget report slows down the whole
computer (Windows 10, but not on my Mac), until I close the budget report
tab. I see others on the list have complained about that. I'm wondering
whether the effects are related. I'll try a few more things ...
