Expecting to have this WITHIN gnucash perhaps a bit too much (imagine,
for just a moment, all the OTHER ways somebody might want the data
sorted/subtotaled)
What you could do is run a report that was just for this account (can
you find the report that does THAT, all the transactions of an account
for a given time period?) and then export that report. You can now do
whatever sorting/subtotaling you desire (assuming you are able do that
with a spreadsheet app or write a program/script to do it. Or if not
personally able, find somebody to help you do that.
