I have a 2.4 database and 2.6 software. Help

I have used Gnucash since 2014. My computer crashed and I now have a new
one. I downloaded 2.6. It seems that 2.4 is not available any more.

OK, so 2.6 does not recognize the database. It says is is not a url and
GnuCash cannot parse the xml. Well, no surprise there.

So, is there a way to ask 2.6 to use the non-web based language of 2.4 or
some reliable way to convert the 2.4 info to xml. I bet there is.
