I have too many VMs. It was a different VM that has Ubuntu 16.04 and GnuCash release 2.6.12 with Finance::Quote 1.47 that is currently the only instance here that can download security prices for US stocks through AlpaVantage. That instance cannot retrieve any of the 5 currencies that I like to follow. David C
