[GNC] Cancel the current transaction Button not working in my Gnucash 2.6.19 Linux Mint 19 upgrade

Are you sure you're using the right button? To delete an existing split you want the delete button, not the cancel button. The delete button is a white circle with a red border and a black "X" in the middle. The cancel button, which undoes any edits made in the split since it was last committed, is a red octagon with a white border, like a "STOP" traffic sign without the word.
