[GNC] Split Transaction now lists 2 items?

Personally, I got so tired of right-clicking to split and not being able to see the detail of splits at a glance (nearly all of my transactions contain multiple splits, I rarely have just a Dr/Cr basic transaction) that I just switched to Transaction View and never looked back. (I also eventually turned on Double Line mode when I figured out that gave me an overall transaction note, instead of just memos for the splits)

That might be why I didn’t notice this change.

Also, I tried a test transaction as you’ve described and I can’t even duplicate either result.

First, you enter Cash $200, but then you’ve entered three splits for Expense ($110), Cleaning ($90) and Checking ($200) - that doesn’t balance.

Are you spending money from the Cash account or the Checking account? You only need one of those to balance the Expense and Cleaning debits. Are you also withdrawing cash? Paying partially from both Cash & Checking?

I’m not sure where you’re entering this transaction, but I know some people like using the Journal out of habit. However, I find a more reliable workflow is to always enter transactions in the register money is coming *from* and I never make a mess.

Regards,
Adrien
