[GNC] Saving in GnuCash painfully slow: what can I do?

The files-in-the-directory hypothesis was on the same bug report, but seemed to affect only a few of the people who responded.

GnuCash doesn’t do anything that low-level. It’s most likely to do with the way Cairo handles HiDPI on Windows.
