[GNC] Linux build from source

Instructions for building are on the wiki. It assumes you know your way around the command line and your package manager, but it does hold your hand somewhat. If you copy paste the commands and understand your current system, you should be fine. (especially if you know how to check if required dependencies are installed)

Pre-built versions are only in various distro repositories which get frozen for each release and there is no one to add new versions to the respective backports repos.

Your other options are to try the .deb you can find on this list, Flatpak, or upgrade your distro. (where even the newest repos still only contain 3.4)
