[GNC] New user - help understanding accounts

PS: the action for "Edit Account" also allows you to change what the parent
account is, which can changes the allowable account types.

Once you move the parent Account for your bank account away from the
Income/Expense Accounts, it'll allow you to select Bank as the Account Type.
