You have asked your question at the right list :)
The problem you experiencs is a known bug:

The good news is this bug has been fixed since the gnucash 3.4 release and
will be in GnuCash 3.5 which is planned for the end or March.
If you can't wait that long, you could also download and install a recent
nightly build for Windows which you can find here:
https://code.gnucash.org/builds/win32/maint/
The installers you find there are not formal releases, but have a few more
bugs fixed than the last official release.
