[GNC] Trustworthy easy way to install gnucash 3.5 on ubuntu?

Nope. We only change dependencies in a major release, and anyway none of those are new dependencies. Since Ubuntu has a GnuCash3 package already you should be able to install all the dependencies with
sudo apt-get build-dep gnucash
as explained in https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Building_On_Linux#Building_and_Installing_the_GnuCash_Program.
