The first step in debugging a crash on a Mac is to open /Applications/Utilities/Console, select User Diagnostics in the sidebar and find the Gnucash crash reports and examine them.
GnuCash 2.6 is no longer supported and 2.6.21 has an old version of AQBanking as well. Please upgrade to 3.7, released last Sunday. If it still crashes file a bug report at https://bugs.gnucash.org and attach the crash report.
