[GNC] Chaning left sidebar spacing

MacOS version shouldn't matter for this.

Have you tried using the Gtk Inspector (see https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/GTK3#Using_the_GTK_Inspector) to find the right control? Note that it isn't a sidebar, it's the notebook tabs that you happen to have put on the side instead of across the top.
