[GNC] Find Vendor Window bug?

It is a known bug that was fixed for v3.8.
If you can’t upgrade for some reason, there is a manual fix you can apply by editing a special GnuCash file.
Edit /usr/share/gnucash/gtkbuilder/dialog-search.glade and change the value in line 305 (the expand property) to True. When you're done it will look like:
<packing>
<property name="expand">True</property>
<property name="fill">True</property>
<property name="position">1</property>
</packing>
