On my Mac the relevant file is in ~/Library/Application Support/Gnucash.

The term “Primary” on a Mac is the <cmd> key, as opposed to the <ctrl> key, so the effect on the relevant menu is:

Last July I set up <Cmd>J to provide a short-cut for the Jump button, which is also very useful.
