For what it is worth:

I have been running Gnucash 4.8-2 under Mac OS Big Sur 11.5/6

Last week I upgraded to Mac OS Monterey 12.1. There were no problems with Gnucash.
Today I upgraded to Gnucash 4.9, again with no problems.
