Open banking is a practice to share information by financial institutions to 3rd party service providers. The service providers need to get explicit customer mandate to access the data and share personalized experiences. Europe has been a pioneer in this to democratize the financial data and create new opportunities and customer experiences. Payments is a big beneficiary of this protocol

To enjoy the benefit you may need to go through one of the service provider who can possibly personalize your information, or can create a files , reports and analytics for your needs.
nevertheless the bank will provide statements directly to their users, possibly as pdfs and downloads and may not support QFX or other open formats in future

Is that open banking platform a different way to get a list of
transactions? If so, how does it work?
