[GNC] cannot open data file

Looks like you managed to delete or move your book file. If you moved it intentionally, click yes on the dialog box and then use File>Open to open it in the new location. If it wasn't intentional and you don't know where you moved it to, click No and quit GnuCash.

The first place to look is in Trash. If it's not there, open a Finder window and select the Recents item in the sidebar and see if it's listed. If it is you can control-click on it and select "show enclosing folder", then either move it back to where it belongs or use the instructions for an intentional move.
If it's gone then you may be able to recover it with Time Machine or some other backup, provided of course that you've set those up to back up your data.

Regards,
John Ralls
