Hi Jeff
Here are two regular expressions (regex) for you:
^$
This should match an empty field: ^ = Start of field, $ = End of field.
^0
This should match anything with a leading zero.
Don't forget to select the Number field in the Find dialogue box.
And this web site has a reasonable explanation of the POSIX style used
by GnuCash:
