The flathub edition of gnucash uses the webkit version that's part of the flatpak. The one on 
the system is irrelevant.

There has been an issue with webkit requiring opengl recently. Perhaps that's also causing 
this ?

The workaround then was to set WEBKIT_DISABLE_COMPOSITING_MODE=1  in the 
environment. I'm not sure whether this can just be in the user's environment or whether it 
has to be done in the flatpak's sandbox environment though.
