[GNC] QIF import fails without error messages

Hi Thomas
I also use QIF files extensively and was surprised when you reported
this error.
Coincidentally, yesterday I upgraded to v5.4.1 and found that I can
reproduce the same error. By a process of elimination I found that it
is due to the ambiguity in the date format. Using your example, a date
of "01/12/2023" could be interpreted as 1st of December *or* 12th of
January. Despite telling GnuCash that the dates are to be interpreted
as "d-m-y" this information seems to be lost and the process fails. I
also tried "2023/12/01" with "y-m-d" and this failed too. Unambiguous
dates like "29/11/2023" work fine.
I have now downgraded to v4.8 and your file was imported without any
errors - see attached screenshot.
I recommend that you:
(a) Downgrade to a version 4 release.
(b) Submit a bug report about this problem

Regards
Geoff
