[GNC] Gnucash crashing when trying to open a different file

I have GnuCash 5.11 build date 2025-03-29, installed from a PPA on
Ubuntu 24.10/Oracular. 

It opens fine, but when I try to open a different gnucash file, it
quits. The following error(s) were logged in syslog:
