[GNC] Gnucash crashing when trying to open a different file

Hi Alan/GNUCash users, 

A few points: 

Which Ubuntu PPA did you use to install GNUCash?

https://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=ubuntu - it looks like
Ubuntu 24.10/Oracular installs with the 256.5 version of systemd
(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Systemd) even though the current version
is 257.5, so if you have not already updated systemd that may play a
role. 

It also looks like a new version of Ubuntu, 25.04/Plucky, was released
in the last week - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ubuntu 

https://flatpak.org/setup/Ubuntu & https://flathub.org/setup/Ubuntu -
you may also be able to use the Flatpak version of GNUCash on Ubuntu and
see if that setup works better.
