On the Accounts page there are at least 7 ways to display the account totals. Make sure you are displaying the account total you want and verify that you are not looking at a future total in the account itself as explain earlier by Jim.

Thank You,

Subject: [GNC] Account Total not matching Account Balance

Hello,

I'm using GnuCash

Version: 5.12
Build ID: 5.12+(2025-06-28)
Finance::Quote: 1.66

in Fedora Linux.

The account Totals shows on the summary Accounts page shows totals that are
different from the balances of the account. The balances of the
accounts are correct. So, the Totals shown on the Accounts page are
incorrect.

For example, on the Accounts page I see account Foo with a Total of $15
while if I open account Foo, the balance after the last transaction is $20.
$20 is the correct value that I expect to see in Accounts Total. This
happens for a number of accounts.

The data is stored in XML text format. The file has about 38 MB. This issue
has been going for some time. All the transactions are in the past.

I tried opening the timestamped .gnucash files created automatically and
they have the same problem. I also tried Actions > Check & Repair, but it
has no effect. I tried restarting and reloading the file and it doesn't
help.

Thank you!
Rares
