Hello,
My main purpose is to update currency exchange rates in GnuCash on my Mac
automatically. I am trying to use the built-in "Get Online Quotes" feature
to do this, but I've encountered several problems. I have followed all the
instructions I can find, but nothing has worked so far.
Here is a summary of what I've done:
1. I went to Tools > Price Database, but the "Get Quotes" button was
grayed out.
2. I learned that I needed to install the Finance::Quote tool. I tried
running the official command in Terminal: sudo
/Applications/Gnucash.app/Contents/Resources/bin/gnc-fq-update
3. This command started, but it failed during a test.
4. I then tried manually installing it using force install
Finance::Quote in the CPAN shell. The terminal said this installation was
"OK," but GnuCash still showed a warning message.
5. I ran the gnc-fq-update command again after the manual install, and
this time the terminal output showed that everything passed and finished
with an "OK."
Despite all of these steps, GnuCash still shows the same warning in the
Security Editor, and the "Get Online Quotes" checkbox is still not working.
Here is a screenshot of what I'm seeing in the Security Editor:
I have attached the full terminal log from the most recent run of the
gnc-fq-update command. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
