[GNC] Possible to Set and Save an Individual Register's Default Style?

So... given that the Register Style persists if you have the register open,
is that something that you cannot do?

I agree that it would be a helpful option to  have the register style be
saved per register (as the widths are). I have wanted to use this, but ran
into the same problem, and just live with it.
