[GNC] GnuCash 5.1 not reflecting dark mode of Ubuntu

I am running GnuCash 5.10 flatpak under Ubuntu Studio 24.04.1 LTS and
GnuCash *does* respect my system's dark theme. The "Accounts" page
always has the dark background from my theme and the "Register" pages
depend on whether I have checked "Use GnuCash built-in color theme" or
not. If it is checked, each register shows alternating yellow and green
bars. If I disable "Use GnuCash built-in color theme" the register
pages also follow my system color scheme.
That said, you may have more than one color scheme, depending on your
display server (X11 or Wayland), desktop environment (e.g. Gnome, KDE),
theme, application style, etc.
Ubuntu Studio uses the KDE plasma desktop environment. If you have
something else, the terminology you see might be slightly different.
GnuCash runs in a GNOME/GTK desktop environment (DE). If you have a
different DE in your Ubuntu installation, you may need to specify an
"Appplication Style" in addition to a "Global Theme". In these cases,
not all combinations will work well. In my case I have chosen "Breeze"
as my KDE "Application Style" and "Materia-dark" as my GNOME/GTK
"Application Style". If you are running GnuCash in a sandbox, e.g.
flatpak, you may also need to install themes inside the flatpak.
However, a normal X11 environment should pick them up automatically.
A good source for more specific help on these topics is
